"Voices" Information Highway

"Be Still And KNOW That I AM God" (Ps. 46:10)

"With all the breaking news, tweets, blogs, podcasts, and compelling advice from Siri, and others, we can find it difficult to know which voices to trust."   ('Hearing His Voice' by David P Homer)
He goes on to give examples of the information making decisions ...
1. crowd source guidance in our lives, thinking the majority will provide the best truth.
2. "halt -- between two opinions," choosing to be neither cold nor hot."
3. follow what is convenient
4. focus on a single voice or issue to guide us
5. rely exclusively upon our own ability to think
The problem with those sources is ...
1. What is popular is not always what is best. (certainly not always right)
2. Halting between two opinions brings no direction
3. Convenience rarely leads to things that matter
4. Fixation on a single voice or issue can impair our ability to see
5. And relying solely upon our own thinking can lead us into a hyper-intellectual stupor of thought.
Which can cause - 'emptiness, bitterness, and dissatisfaction' (That is rampant in the world today)
Homer goes on to give examples and ways of shifting through information and where we can find truth and how we can prepare ourselves to recognize and receive truth.  He ends his talk in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saint's General Conference April 2019 with this statement, "in a world with so many competing voices. I testify that our Heavenly Father has made it possible for us to hear and follow His voice.  If we are diligent, He and His Son will give us the direction we seek, the strength we need, and the happiness we all desire."

Bringing light into your life helps you see more clearly.
