Brighter Day
“Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it.”
–William Penn
This thought applies to the family in this day and age. It is important to stand for right even when everyone else seems to be against it.
One of my favorite scriptures can be applied to the topic of family.....
D&C 50:24 That
which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God,
receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the
perfect day.
It fascinates me to be able to apply it to so many different areas of my life. This was a new area suggested by Elder L. Tom Perry in regards to the family, “Light and truth forsake that evil one. … And that wicked one cometh and taketh away light and truth, through disobedience, from the children of men, and because of the tradition of their fathers. But I have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth.” (2003)
Finally here are some random thoughts that apply to the family also......
“Because God created the Natural – invented it out of His
love and artistry – it demands our reverence” –CS Lewis
“Not everything that can be counted counts, and not
everything that counts can be counted” - Albert Einstein
"Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's
possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible." -- Francis of Assisi
"Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace:
thereby good shall come unto thee." (Job 22:21)
"It is a great blessing to have an inner peace, to
have an assurance, to have a spirit of serenity and inward calm during times of
strive and struggle, during times of sorrow and reverses. It is soul-satisfying
to know that God is at the helm, that He is mindful of His children, and that
we can with full confidence place our trust in Him. I believe that all
the truly great men of the earth have been men who trusted in God and who have
striven to do that which is right as they understood the right" (The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p. 68).
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a
miracle." –
Albert Einstein
